Born In Rhode Island and raised in Hillsboro, Oregon, Dawn Wair began riding horses at the age of five, and continues to participate in several equine disciplines. She currently enjoys competing on both of her horses in local quarter horse western pleasure competitions. Dawn also remains a member of the RC Riders Precision Equine Drill Team, and serves as Secretary for the Forest Grove Chapter of Ranch Riders.
After graduating in 2004 from Portland State University with a degree in Environmental Science, and minor in Biology and Community Development, Dawn now works full-time at Fernwood Environmental Services. At Fernwood she handles wetland delineations in compliance with state and federal regulations; assists clients with removal and fill permits; and designs mitigation sites.
In addition to her position at Fernwood, Dawn has worked as an equine veterinary technician for Spinnaker Farm Equine Veterinary Clinic for the past two years. She Is currently taking courses to fulfill requirements for a veterinary technician license. Dawn also handles client relations and advertising for Spinnaker Farm. Prior to the inception of Spinnaker Farm, Dawn spent ten years managing the joint Garrett / Wenzell family breeding farm. While managing the family breeding farm, she assisted in veterinary procedures and coordinated veterinary care for all of the young horses and brood mares.
